Cloud computing for care & support

Source: Octavia Software Solutions

Some years ago, we at Octavia Software Solutions recognised the power of cloud computing end user interfaces and developed our solutions based on this web technology to help achieve digital transformation in the housing sector.

Our Care and Support solution OSKA is used by large and small organisations to manage the delivery of specialist services to some of the most vulnerable people in society removing the need for an in-house IT infrastructure which simplifies both the solution that our customers use to support their clients and the way in which we provide support to our customers.

The benefits this offers our customers are clear, especially the ability to access essential business systems and key client data at any time from almost anywhere. The information once recorded via a tablet or phone is instantly available to authorised personnel providing real time updates of interactions and service delivery to clients, conversely it also highlights gaps in service delivery.

We don’t just promote online working to our customers we subscribe to it too, our entire business operates remotely and all the services we need to operate are provided by trusted online suppliers including; IT infrastructure, accounting, finance, banking and all development support services.

So, even in extreme conditions such as those we are experiencing now with COVID19, we and our customers can truly operate a business as usual service with no impact to everyday practises.

This was put to the test recently with one customer who was in the process of implementing a new OSKA module, they had chosen to have site visits from Octavia personnel to deliver workshops and training but due to COVID19 this was not possible. We were able to quickly switch to the online implementation package including the interactive training courses, this avoided any interruption or delays to the time plan. The module is now in use and providing another element of Digital Transformation to one of our customers.

Over the last month or so our customers have the seen the benefits that OSKA delivers through uninterrupted service delivery, access from anywhere on a range of devices and the immediate introduction of home working to our customers staff who were generally office based.

Aside from COVID19 the online working options that our solutions provide are also delivering financial and environmental benefits to our customers.

What would we do differently?

Encourage more organisations to switch to online systems/apps for data collection and retrieval.
