Navigating Covid-19 with Unit4 Business Software

Source: Unit4 Business Software

From the widespread implementation of remote working to complete reliance on technology for communication, the workplace is in flux. The need to empower, engage and value people has never been greater.

Our initial response to the pandemic was to put in place all necessary safeguarding precautions against COVID-19. We wanted to protect our people regardless of function or geography. Quickly and successfully, our people moved to a remote working model, providing a full and uninterrupted service to clients from the safety of their homes. We’re doing all we can to make sure they can maintain a work/life balance.

Also, our business continuity plans meant we were able to continue operations as usual. Continuing to offer full access to all Unit4 support services for our clients and partners.

We want to show customers we can help them too in these difficult times. Helping them do more every day. That’s why we’re investing in virtual events and happy hours to really engage and connect with them more at this time.

Our professional services team quickly moved to a remote and virtual delivery model, too, meeting all our customers’ needs across all operating regions. Continuing to execute successfully and deliver our full suite of people capability services globally. Projects are starting, continuing and going live with no impact on timelines and quality, as we help customers reconfigure to home working.

Business continuity is a top priority for us, so we were quickly able to leverage our diverse data-centres and public cloud partners like Microsoft Azure. Our Global Cloud Operations Centers are also managed in different locations to ensure the resilience of Unit4’s systems. We’ve equipped all our technical people to work remotely, so business can continue without interruption. And our support locations continue to deliver seamless service remotely while maintaining continuity of service and meeting Service Level Agreements.

After our people, our second priority is ensuring we have a plan in place to protect the business through these challenging times. Having the right tools to help model, plan and make decisions. This is a critical element in helping a company use both offensive and defensive strategies together when facing “unknown unknowns.”

Scenario planning is important but shouldn’t become an obsession. Instead, building and executing offensive and defensive-based strategies, based on sound business principles, helps organizations weather the storm. Equally, remaining flexible, staying close to customers and thinking realistically about issues including cash flow, credit, order backlogs and inventory levels should be part of your planning process.

We also conducted a risk-based business impact analysis across all divisions of our organization that will be refreshed on an ongoing basis. This lets us identify critical activities, resources and external/internal issues that could impact the continuity of our operations. This helps us to continue providing services during and after business disruption by identifying and focusing on the processes which have the greatest impact on our customers.

To help companies through the crisis, we’re offering versions of our employee engagement tool and out-of-the-box FP&A free of charge. This is our way of giving back, so that our customers and prospects come out of this stronger. These are extraordinary times. It’s heartening to see that in the face of adversity, people from across the globe are demonstrating their sense of community, belonging and camaraderie. Harnessing this positive human spirit will be vital in overcoming the challenges that will undoubtedly lay ahead.

Find out how Unit4 can help your business get through this crisis. Our offer to you is free of charge. The impact will be immediate, and you’ll be up and running in less than 5 days. Get started and find out more here.
