InTechnology adds voice to unified communications

InTechnology has launched the UK’s first unified communications (UC) solution with integrated IP telephony, video calling and audio/video conferencing on demand. In partnership with voice specialists POSTcti, InTechnology is offering a hosted Microsoft Office Communication Server service integrated with its desktop telephony service, resulting in an estimated 50 per cent reduction in unwanted email and voice messages.

InTechnology’s new service is intended to solve the problem of staff having numerous devices, such as PCs, laptops, mobile phones, office phones, and PDAs, as well as multiple communications media such as voice, email, text/SMS and instant messaging, all of which are managed separately with duplicated or different contact lists and inboxes.

Available on a pay-as-you-go basis, InTechnology’s Hosted Unified Communications service offers integrated hosted voice and communication services including email, instant messaging, presence, shared calendars, shared desktops, video calling, conferencing, and IP telephony.

Stefan Haase, marketing director, InTechnology, said, “Until now, UC solutions have had a vital link missing – voice. High-definition online video and conferencing features allow businesses to save costs, time and carbon emissions by offering a high-quality alternative to face-to-face meetings.

“It is estimated that regular business travelers spend eleven days per year on avoidable or unnecessary travel, wasting at least £1,700 per person. Our Hosted Unified Communications service now offers them a viable alternative.”

Neil May, managing director, POSTcti, added, “The goal of UC is to bring together all of the communications tools that we use, allowing users to make decisions on how to communicate with each other based on the presence status of their contacts. Our new hosted offering lets customers of all sizes enjoy the flexibility of a centralised solution that integrates with their day-to-day business processes with minimal up-front investment.”
