Omniledger gets mobile with Civica

Omniledger is partnering with Civica to provide a mobile working solution for its Pyramid housing management system customers. Rather than developing its own system, Omniledger decided to use an existing, well-established product that already had a mobile module for every discipline.

Lee Wagnall, sales manager, OmniLedger, said, “With growing pressure for RSLs to mobilise their housing and maintenance teams to reduce costs and use resources better, we needed to extend Pyramid to accommodate mobile working.”

Using Civica Mobile, Omniledger’s new system includes a comprehensive suite of applications that seamlessly provide a real-time interface from the mobile worker directly into the Pyramid housing management system.

The initial development was centred on the orders and inspection module which allows an office-based maintenance or customer services team to send maintenance requests and inspections direct to field-based workers’ mobile devices. This includes details of the reported problem, tenant contact details and a full history of previous repairs and inspections. The mobile workers can then raise the entire works order remotely which is then automatically created in the Pyramid system and issued to a contractor while the inspector goes on to the next job.

One of Omniledger’s first Pyramid Mobile customers predicted that the consequent savings in fuel, paperwork and data processing would mean that the product would pay for itself within months.
