Also in the news, Capita and TotalMobile Solutions launched a joint mobile solution in April which works across both Capita and other third-party back-office systems, enabling their customers to run a single mobile solution across the organisation.
The Capita TotalMobile solution has been developed with the field worker in mind so is not constrained by back-office requirements. It will also work with or without network coverage to maximise productivity, irrespective of location.
Paul Millard, operations director, Capita Software Services, said, “We understand that technology, although essential, only makes up around 30 per cent of a mobile working solution. In order for organisations to successfully implement mobile working, other areas such as people and processes must be addressed.”
The joint solution includes robust authorisation procedures and data encryption and is compatible with a wide range of mobile devices and any network. Capita added that the solution would improve staff effectiveness by giving them access to the right information at all times, while back-office administration resources and costs would be reduced by capturing information in the field and updating back-office systems remotely.
