Grŵp Gwalia first HA live on Xchangewales

Grŵp Gwalia has become the first public-sector organisation to go live with all components of the Xchangewales e-procurement programme, sponsored by the Welsh Assembly Government and delivered by Procserve.

Xchangewales is a new programme which allows all public sector organisations in Wales to source, tender, evaluate, order and pay for goods and services at a click of a button. The electronic tools and web-based services help to improve efficiency, increase productivity and lower the cost of doing business, with each transaction made through Xchangewales expected to save organisations around £26. Procserve was appointed by the Welsh Assembly Government to deliver a key part of the e-procurement platform for Xchangewales.

Tracey Healey, director of procurement and business management, Grŵp Gwalia, said, “Every organisation adopting e-procurement should undertake some form of business process change on both their internal and external processes. This can help to achieve major process efficiencies and savings in the purchase-to-pay process. Even taking a couple of steps out of the P2P process can yield significant time and cost savings.”

Healey added, “The process has been fantastic. 35 per cent of our transactions are now going through the Xchangewales e-trading system, with 75 per cent of these receiving an electronic invoice in return. This is quite simply an amazing achievement and we are well on the road to successful end-to-end e-procurement.”
