Mobisoft texting delivers for Northampton BC

Northampton Borough Council’s housing department has cut its tenant communications costs by a third following the implementation of a text-messaging system from Mobisoft.

The council’s housing department was previously using traditional methods such as adverts, leaflets, posters and letters to reach tenants in NBC’s 12,000 properties but was receiving a consistently poor response. NBC therefore decided to embark on a mobile text strategy with the selection of Mobisoft’s Campaign Manager text solution, particularly as it would match the personal nature of the information to be communicated. NBC can now engage direct with its tenants immediately, ranging from a single person to thousands at the touch of a button.

Ann-Inniss Haycox, choice officer, Northampton Borough Council, said, “Mobisoft’s Campaign Manager and Mobile Site Builder are delivering significant cost savings. There is nothing to install as everything is accessed via a web console, giving us full flexibility about whom we give access to, plus the system is completely secure and encrypted.”

Mobysoft said that the value of its contract with NBC was around £15,000 with ongoing costs of 0.4p per text message. Although initial discussions and negotiations took six weeks, deployment of Campaign Manager and Mobile Site Builder took just 48 hours.
