Swan consolidates with MidlandHR

Swan Housing Group is consolidating its HR and employee self-service systems onto a single system from MidlandHR as part of a five-year contract that includes outsourced payroll services. MidlandHR’s iTrent system is a single platform for HR, payroll, talent management and workforce planning.

Geoff Weedon, head of ICT, Swan Housing Group, said, “Our previous HR and payroll operation was an amalgamation of small systems which was very difficult to manage and maintain. Additionally, we had a separate browser-based solution for self-service holiday requests which required individual logins for each employee, causing a number of problems for HR.

“iTrent will greatly simplify all HR processes and provide a much better service to our staff while also providing the rich data and analytical capabilities needed for strategic workforce decision-making.”

Swan Housing Group will be hosting the iTrent system internally, alongside external support from MidlandHR’s payroll service. This outsourced service will mean that Swan Housing will simply provide its payroll data via iTrent and then MidlandHR will cover everything from the structuring of pay and deduction calculations, through to payslip printing and distribution.

Swan will test the MidlandHR system for three months from October 2010, with iTrent expected to be operational during January 2011.
