£420,000 Devon & Cornwall for Capita

Devon and Cornwall Housing Group has signed a 10-year, £420,000 contract with Capita Software Services for its Capita Housing system.

Duncan Walton, group director of corporate services, Devon and Cornwall Housing Trust, said, “We see the introduction of a single housing software system across the group as essential for introducing enhanced levels of customer service while improving management information and value for money.”

Capita has also launched Capita Support, a new web-based application which will give housing associations, council officers and citizens with personalised, instant access to housing and support services.

Capita Support, which addresses the Government’s ‘Supporting People’ initiative to provide a better quality of life for vulnerable people, will give users access to end-to-end housing services, from support with assessment procedures to identification of appropriate services to meet citizens’ needs.

Stewart Davison, product launch manager, Capita Software Services, said, “Local authorities face the daily challenge of supporting and protecting vulnerable people. This web-based application is a platform to support current business processes far more effectively and efficiently. For example, it will cut the time lag between a housing association registering a supported housing vacancy and that space being filled by a tenant. Previously this might have taken a number of days but now the status of accommodation and services can be reported in seconds.”
