Orbit live with ActiveH

Orbit Housing Group, which now manages almost 40,000 properties and has 1,800 staff, has taken just 100 days to deploy its new MIS-AMS systems, from signing contracts in December 2008 to the live deployment of the first phase of the project, consisting of new workflow, CRM, repairs, reporting and rent modules. The second phase included the conversion of almost 9000 properties from Orbit Heart of England and the addition of the MIS-AMS contractors module by April 2009.

Lisa Jackson, housing business analyst, Orbit Housing Group, said, “Orbit and MIS-AMS worked seamlessly together to coordinate all efforts including data conversion of 8,900 additional assets and accounts. It was easy to feel that we were MIS’s only customer but we now know that another five major projects were concurrent at that time. We could contact our MIS project manager at any time and we had regular contact with the MD, which was refreshing.”

Looking ahead, Orbit intends to extend the CRM system to all of its 300 customer-facing staff in order to log every customer contact and to introduce SMS texting as an additional communications channel to residents. Electronic document management from Documotive, with extensive links throughout ActiveH and OpenAccounts, is in the middle of being implemented alongside the trial of MIS-AMS’s mobile working modules.
