Orchard Information Systems has bought Applaud Web Solutions, a supplier of performance management, collaboration and content management tools through its Vestri web application platform.
Applaud’s employees will be retained by Orchard as part of the acquisition, with a further 12 jobs expected to be created over the next year. Orchard said it is now intending to expand its business and make further acquisitions.
Paul Sheperia, founder of Applaud Web Solutions, said, “Our technology strengthens Orchard’s position in cloud computing with our long experience of developing web-based solutions.”
Nick Lambert, finance director, Orchard Information Systems, said, “This acquisition supports our continuing growth strategy. With a wide range of solutions including performance and risk management, online collaboration and content management, we felt Applaud had a worthwhile offering which allows us to provide further choice and value for our customers.”
