South Yorkshire Housing has cut its arrears from four per cent to two per cent after its implementation of Mobysoft’s RentSense software.
Before implementing RentSense, the housing provider’s approach to arrears was mainly reactive, resulting in small arrears cases frequently escalating due to a lack of early interventions. With RentSense, South Yorkshire Housing’s income team can now identify arrears earlier and take preventative action.
Darren Joyce, income team leader, South Yorkshire Housing, said, “By preventing our tenants from falling deeper into debt, RentSense helps protect their financial well-being. It also enables our team to work much more efficiently. This is clear from our performance since using RentSense; we’ve gone from having four per cent of our rents outstanding down to just two per cent.
“When we first implemented RentSense, some of us were sceptical. Now, if we took it away, our team would be up in arms! They rely on it and value how much easier it makes their work.”
