As everyone in social housing is only too well aware, data is fundamental to every housing provider’s operations. Whether it’s upstream problems with data collection, entry and consistency or downstream issues with data integration, reporting and governance (and everything in between), data is one of the ‘existential pillars’ of housing providers’ operations and must be an all-pervasive part of housing providers’ high-level strategies as well as informing their day-to-day operations.
If you listed a typical housing provider’s most pressing concerns, such as damp and mould, regulatory compliance, backlogs of repairs, cyber-security, rent arrears and tenant satisfaction, every single one of those concerns (and many more besides) would be mitigated via better data management (in all its flavours).
With that in mind, Housing Technology’s annual data management event is back this September in central London. With a very timely emphasis on housing data standards alongside artificial intelligence, Data Matters 2025 will cover:
• Data lakes, data warehouses & middleware;
• Why sector-wide data standards benefit housing providers and tenants;
• Using data standards to make data interoperable between application silos;
• Demonstrating how data standards and AI can democratise data across an organisation;
• ‘Rubbish in, rubbish out’ – the importance of good data for successful AI programmes;
• How AI can transform routine data management tasks;
• Using AI to mine your structured & unstructured TSM data;
• Why good governance and regulatory compliance both need data standards and AI;
• Pitfalls and tips for using AI within data management.
If you’ve not yet reserved your place at our fourth annual Data Matters event (16 September, central London), there are still some places available – please visit housing-technology.com/event/data-matters-2025 for full details of the speakers, partners and booking information.
