At the start of a new year and a new decade, how about making some new resolutions? Based on the results of our 2010 survey and report, the following suggestions are worth considering:

Customer relationship management – if you don’t have a CRM system already, it should be on your list of priority business applications.
Focus on getting end-user buy-in when introducing new applications – people resist changes to their established working practices
Make sure that your IT infrastructure is not only resilient and secure, but also agile enough to support new applications and processes.
Consider which parts of your IT infrastructure and applications could be either outsourced or delivered as a SaaS/hosted service.
Streamline and integrate the exchange of data between applications to deliver straight-through processing.
Most housing providers spend 3 per cent of their annual turnover – how do you compare?
Project success is all about business buy-in and developing a sound business case, and less about project management methodologies or technical issues.
Green computing saves you money, simple as that.
