MHS Homes is now using IoT Solutions Group’s Cosie Homes platform to strengthen its approach to damp and mould.
Using continuous in-home sensor data, MHS Homes can now identify the likely causes of damp and mould earlier, collect evidence of whether any remedial works have succeeded and maintain its visibility of their properties’ performance long after the contractors have left.
Cosie Homes helps surveyors to understand what’s driving conditions in a home, such as ventilation, heating, moisture load or structural factors, and gives housing teams an evidential foundation for more informed conversations with residents. The housing provider is also using the data from IoTSG’s devices to move to a ‘desktop first’ post-inspection model, reducing unnecessary physical visits while maintaining oversight.
MHS Homes is using Cosie Homes Pro for its decarbonisation programme. Enhanced sensors monitor how homes perform before and after any improvement works, providing real-world thermal evidence to validate outcomes and identify any unintended consequences.
Aimee Eldridge, head of asset performance, MHS Homes, said, “We use the data from Cosie Homes Pro to confirm whether or not damp and mould has been remedied. We’re more accountable now and trying to use our data more intelligently.”
