NEC buys Cadcorp

NEC Software Solutions has bought Cadcorp, the UK-based provider of geographic information systems (GIS) and web mapping software, with the aim of enhancing NEC’s capabilities in location-based intelligence for UK housing providers and local authorities.

Alongside Cadcorp’s wealth of expertise in spatial data analysis, cloud-hosted mapping and geospatial consultancy, its flagship Cadcorp SIS product is widely used by a range of sectors including housing, government, emergency services, energy and infrastructure.

Tina Whitley, chief executive officer, NEC Software Solutions, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Cadcorp to our family. Its core offering complements our mission to create safer communities through innovation and collaboration.”

Martin Daly, technical director, Cadcorp, said, “Joining NEC Software Solutions marks a new chapter for Cadcorp. Together, we’ll accelerate the delivery of integrated solutions that empower housing and public-sector professionals.”
