North Star Housing Group is now using SDS ProVal from Shelton Development Services for all new property development appraisals, including those of its two operating companies, Teesdale Housing Association and Endeavour Housing Association. ProVal replaces North Star’s internally-developed spreadsheet tools for development appraisals.
After an initial 30-day trial of SDS ProVal, the full system was given to North Star’s finance and development teams. SDS said that the contract value was around £10,000, including software, training and one year’s support.
Barrie Westbrook, head of new business, North Star Housing Group, said, “ProVal has given us and our board confidence in our site appraisal methodology, and it proved to be a really valuable tool in the preparation of our offer to the HCA in the recent bidding round. It has also significantly improved the working relationship between our finance and development teams.”
North Star is now considering the implementation of SDS Sequel which deals with workflow, project management and cash flow reporting for new housing developments.
