Southern Housing & Look Ahead deploy HousingDocs from ORS

Optical Record Systems has announced that Southern Housing Group and Look Ahead Housing & Care are the latest housing providers to implement its HousingDocs system to automate their finance invoice processing.

Southern Housing is already using HousingDocs integrated with Open Accounts to automate the processing of over 400 invoices per day. Look Ahead will also be installing HousingDocs integrated with Sun Accounts for automatic invoice processing, as well as having direct links to Civica’s Universal Housing and CIMS for traditional EDM-based document storage and retrieval. The housing providers are expected to reduce their invoice processing costs by 75 per cent.

Joe Pettit, associate director of business development, Optical Record Systems, said, “These new signings are the culmination of our work with over 35 housing providers since the launch of HousingDocs, which has seen it integrated with most of the housing management and finance systems used by the UK housing sector.”

50% saving on mailroom costs with HousingMail
ORS has just developed a digital mailroom service specifically for the housing sector, promising to cut existing manual mailroom processes by at least 50 per cent.

The new HousingMail service mimics the actions of a housing provider’s current post room – reading, sorting, categorising and distributing mail and data from paper and electronic formats around the organisation. Using HousingMail, there is one entry point for all incoming business documents, whether as paper, fax or email, after which they all pass through the same system to be scanned, classified, sorted and distributed.
