Thirteen Group is installing 1,000 ‘smart home’ devices from Switchee to give its future tenants greater control over their energy consumption. The Switchee devices are currently being installed in empty homes before tenants move in.
Data from the Switchee devices also gives Thirteen’s housing staff and asset managers more accurate insights into the condition and performance of its properties, such as identifying risks of damp and mould and warnings of faults in heating systems.
Samantha Granger, head of environmental sustainability, Thirteen Group, said, “As we head into winter, tenants with the devices installed will be able to see how they can help them control their energy usage. This partnership with Switchee will help us understand more about the condition of our homes and where to direct our future property investments and planned maintenance schedules.”
