Viridian removes paper archives with HousingDocs

With over 30,000 tenants, Viridian is one of the UK’s largest housing associations. The consequent volume of paper documents was draining internal staff resources and taking up considerable office space in filing cabinets. EDM was identified as a means of improving document access, handling and retention while freeing up valuable space in Viridian’s offices.

HousingDocs was implemented across Viridian’s operations, allowing easier document retrieval and freeing staff to focus on core housing activities. HousingDocs was initially implemented in the finance department to manage all paper-based finance functions.

Christine Appiah-Caeser, head of accounts payable, Viridian Housing, said, “Finance staff previously spent large amounts of time tracking down invoices. The time saved finding the paperwork I need is invaluable – the whole department can recall invoices and reports without leaving their seat.”

With a number of pre-configured modules and workflows in HousingDocs, Viridian has expanded the use of the EDM system without needing to invest large amounts of internal resource. Future-proofing against further developments at Viridian is assured through the ease with which HousingDocs can be integrated with any of Viridian’s other internal systems.
