WM Housing outsources to MET and PCMS

WM Housing Group has just agreed a long-term outsourcing contract with MET and PCMS Group for an end-to-end service covering the proactive management of its IT infrastructure and applications.

Andy Carroll, group head of IT, WM Housing, said, “With the complex systems, applications and infrastructure we operate, it is essential we maintain system availability and continually improve performance and security. It was therefore imperative to find a partner that not only managed our systems and user support, but also strived to increase systems availability and reduce call volumes.

“MET and PCMS were able to not only provide everything we were looking for, but also be more proactive through the comprehensive monitoring of our systems, improved problem management and a programme of continuous improvement to ensure reduced downtime.”

MET will provide WM Housing with Microsoft servers, VMware, Citrix, network and security support services, while PCMS will be providing databases, UNIX servers, infrastructure management, desktop services and a 24/7 service desk .

Garry McLauchlan, director for managed services, PCMS, said, “IT outsourcing is an excellent solution for companies such as WM Housing as they can benefit from the economies of scale, infrastructure and knowledge that could be limited with an in-house team.”
