Burnside Telecom has launched a vandal- and weather-proof phone that can be used in any location with GSM network coverage.
The Burnside GSM Tough Phone, which can mounted anywhere and powered by mains power, internal battery or solar panel, can be deployed immediately, without the delay and expense sometimes associated with landline phones.
The phone case is moulded from shatter-proof polyester to prevent rust and corrosion, with a high-impact Cycoloy handset and stainless steel cord, and is weatherproof against dust and low-pressure jets of water to the IP65 standard. When the handset is left off the hook, the phone will automatically reset itself to enable incoming calls. The hook switch is solid state and contains no moving parts.
