Ko-Su app for mobile training and learning

Ko-Su has launched a smartphone app to help housing providers achieve their mobile strategies for tenant engagement, regulatory training, and key updates. The Ko-Su platform is designed to enable housing providers to develop mobile-optimised interactive activities, training and learning communities. Ko-Su can be used on any platform via a browser and has a free native app for Apple iOS devices.

Ko-Su was developed after experimentation and piloting in the area of mobile learning, letting end-users create interactive activities optimised for the mobile screen. The learning and training activities are created from templates that support text, images, audio, videos, multiple choice, free text questions and even drawing tasks. From a security perspective, all data is encrypted and administration tools allow full access control and visibility of activities.

Gerlinde Gniewosz, founder, Ko-Su, said, “We’ve seen increasing demand from trainers to create their own mobile content, despite there being thousands of mobile apps available.

“So we thought, why not just create the tools and platform so that trainers can create and share their own content anytime, anywhere and thereby making learning available for everyone. We understand good learning design for the smartphones’ small screens, and we leave the content to our users who are the experts in their fields.”

Uses of the Ko-Su app within housing include enabling staff to do their health and safety training while travelling, sending news updates straight to tenants’ mobile phones, training staff on compliance certifications or policy issues, and participating in community engagement activities.

BBC Worldwide Labs winner

BBC Worldwide has chosen Ko-Su as one of six winners of its Labs start-up programme which looks for the most dynamic emerging digital media companies in the UK.

Ko-Su will be given workspace in BBC Worldwide’s west-London offices for six months. The company will also have the opportunity to work alongside specialists from across BBC Worldwide who can offer advice and support in areas such as: technology, content, marketing, sales and distribution, PR and legal.
