£75 million repair & maintenance contracts for Morrison

Morrison, the maintenance and repairs service provider, is the preferred bidder on four long-term contracts worth a total of £75 million from Amicus Horizon, East Durham Homes, One Housing Group and Riverside South.

The Amicus deal is worth £3.7 million per year over eight years, covering responsive repairs and void maintenance services for Amicus’ 9000 properties in London and South East England.

Morrison is extending its existing contract with East Durham Homes, where it is already responsible for one-third of the repairs and maintenance work for the ALMO’s 8500 properties. The new five-year contract will see Morrison take responsibility for all of EDH’s housing stock from the council’s direct labour organisation (DLO). Morrison’s new contract will be worth around £4.5 million per year, up from its existing £1.5 million annual contract. Over 100 staff from the DLO will be transferred into Morrison’s business.

Riverside South’s ten-year contract with Morrison starts in July 2009 and is worth £2.5 million each year, while over at One Housing Group Morrison has doubled the value of its existing contract in a new six-year deal.
